This book presents similarity between Gaussian and non-Gaussian stable multivariate distributions and introduces the one-dimensional stable random variables. It discusses the most basic sample path properties of stable processes, namely sample boundedness and continuity. As a key regulatory mechanism of gene expression, DNA methylation patterns are widely altered in many complex genetic diseases, including cancer. DNA methylation is naturally quantified by bounded support data; therefore, it is non-Gaussian distributed.
